SHORT DESCRIPTION

Complex hydrogeological study for the identification and discrimination of Ground Water Bodies (G.W.B.) in two Water Districts of Greece (East Attica and Central Greece), based on:
a) the existence of independent hydrogeological (groundwater) basins with well-defined groundwater flow, recharge and discharge conditions,
b) the reliable approximation of the groundwater conditions,
c) the reliable approximation of the interconnection between adjacent groundwater systems and,
d ) the possibility of mapping groundwater bodies and surface water bodies, to permit easy integration into management plans.
Characterization of the qualitative and quantitative status of G.W.B. based on the infiltration and abstraction volumes affected, as well as the temporal variation of the water level and the hydrochemistry.
Proposals for measurements to achieve good status conditions of G.W.B., or maintaining the good situation that may exist.
